Volunteer

Volunteer!

Chesapeake Natives is a volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to promoting, protecting, and propagating plants native to the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. We provide opportunities for volunteers of all ages. Whether you are a gardening enthusiast or have limited knowledge on plants, you are welcome to volunteer.

The plants you help grow will be sold to the community during our Open house sales. All proceeds go directly to support our program! Special skills are welcome but certainly not required.

Currently our volunteer hours are:
Monday-Friday 10:00 AM – 3:00PM

If you are interested in volunteering with us please contact volunteer@chesapeakenatives.org

Volunteer activities

Our volunteer opportunities are almost endless!
Currently the volunteer activities include:

– Native plant propagation
-Building and maintain native plant gardens
-Habitat restoration
-Assist with customers at Plant Sales
-Community Outreach
-Photography
-Digital and social media content creation

There are also ongoing opportunities to be involved in the restoration and maintenance of our 1935 historic greenhouse and other structures on the property, and skilled labor is extremely welcome for this!

If you’re interested in a project that is not on this list, please reach out to us with your ideas!
